Audionet Pre G2 Preamplifier

Photograph 1 of 6
Here is the Audionet PRE G2, one of the truly serious reference solid-state preamplifiers from Audionet of Germany. The PRE G2 was Audionet’s reference linestage before the Scientist Series, and it remains a remarkable component: massive bandwidth, superb speed and control, very low coloration, and the kind of dimensional, harmonically complete presentation that explains why Audionet has such a devoted following among experienced listeners.
Greg Weaver’s review in The Absolute Sound captured the PRE G2’s character beautifully, describing the result as “staggeringly good” and noting “stunning bass control, exceptional low-level resolution and transient speed, greatly diminished coloration, a significantly lower noise floor, and a gorgeously rich density of texture and tone color.” He later wrote that “nothing else at anywhere near their asking price has been so incisively articulate yet so unmistakably natural-sounding.”
David W. Robinson of Positive Feedback was equally enthusiastic in his Audionet reference-system review, writing that “the PRE G2 and MAX monos were exceptionally transparent” with no sense of “components in the way of the music,” and concluding that Audionet belonged on his “very short list of true first-rank world-class reference systems.” K. E. Heartsong of AudioKey Reviews also praised the PRE G2/AMP pairing for soundstaging that was “exceptionally wide and exceptionally deep” with spatial recreation that was “truly superb.”
This is a rare opportunity to own one of Audionet’s great reference preamplifiers at a fraction of its original $23k+ retail price. The PRE G2 is for the listener who wants resolution without glare, speed without leanness, and transparency without giving up musical body, scale, and drive.
