Krell K-300i Integrated Amplifier with DAC / Streaming Module

Photograph 1 of 8
This Krell K-300i includes the optional DAC/streaming module, bringing digital-source flexibility and serious amplifier performance together in one beautifully built component. Its appeal goes beyond power: this is an amplifier designed to give music weight, precision, and a convincing sense of presence, with the control to keep complex recordings composed and the resolution to make quieter passages just as engaging.
Rated at 150 watts per channel into 8 ohms and 300 watts per channel into 4 ohms, the K-300i combines Krell’s iBias technology with fully differential Current Mode circuitry. The installed digital module adds ESS Sabre conversion, USB, optical, coaxial and HDMI connectivity, plus network streaming capability. Balanced XLR and single-ended RCA inputs accommodate analog sources, making this a versatile foundation for a serious music system without the complexity of separate preamplifier, DAC and power-amplifier chassis.
Independent reviewers found plenty to admire. In his review of a digital-module-equipped K-300i, Vedran Simunovic of SoundStage! Australia described its “marvellously accurate sound that you can never hear enough of and that you never get tired of.” Reviewing the same model with the digital option, Janine Elliot of HiFi Pig wrote: “There was a vice-like grip on the music that made it cope with anything that was thrown at it, producing a very detailed and solid presentation.”
For the listener who wants the authority of a substantial amplifier alongside the simplicity of an integrated, the K-300i makes a persuasive case. Powerful, controlled, and revealing, it is equally at home communicating the scale of an orchestra and the texture of an intimate performance.
