The McIntosh D150 is a true digital control center in classic McIntosh form: a dedicated digital preamplifier and high-resolution DAC designed to sit at the heart of a modern source system. With no analog inputs by design, it is built for listeners who want pure digital performance — computer audio, disc transport, streamer, or SACD/CD source — routed cleanly to a power amplifier or traditional preamp.

At its core is McIntosh’s Advanced Quad Balanced DAC architecture with an eight-channel 32-bit converter. Asynchronous USB supports up to 32-bit/384kHz PCM plus DSD64/DSD128 and DXD, while dual coaxial and dual optical inputs handle high-resolution PCM. A proprietary MCT connection links directly to select McIntosh SACD/CD transports for the purest possible digital path, and a high-quality headphone amplifier makes personal listening equally serious. Fixed and variable balanced and unbalanced outputs, the familiar black-glass faceplate, and compact proportions complete a thoroughly McIntosh digital hub.
