Kubala-Sosna Research’s Ovation Cable Loom

Cables & system connections
Kubala-Sosna occupies a specific place in the GTT portfolio, with a different relationship in each market.
Kubala-Sosna began with an observation made inside serious systems: cables change the performance of the components they connect, and the differences are not subtle. Founded in New Jersey by Joe Kubala and Howard Sosna, the company developed its patented OptimiZ™ architecture through years of iterative construction—varying conductor materials, gauges, strand counts, geometries, spacing, and dielectrics—and evaluated every design by careful listening in two reference systems, one all solid-state and one all tube. The result is a cable engineered as a complete recipe rather than a showcase for any single material. Kubala-Sosna's own measurements place its cables apart from conventional designs in capacitance-inductance behavior and characteristic impedance, and the designs are built to pass a near-perfect square wave regardless of the load presented at either end—so the cable remains true to the signal no matter which components it connects, now or in the future. The current range climbs through four generations of OptimiZ™ architecture, from Fascination to the flagship Celebration and Ovation series.
Kubala-Sosna cables are voiced for connection to the performance rather than for an immediately obvious signature. The first impression is usually one of ease: a quieter background, unforced dynamics, and tonal color that arrives fully formed. As the range ascends, the gains arrive in every dimension at once—detail, dynamics, and dimensionality—rather than as a spotlight on any single area. In GTT's reference systems, the Ovation loom in particular has demonstrated how much a complete cable architecture can contribute: image stability, low-frequency pitch and texture, and the sense that musicians are playing together rather than assembled from parts. These are the cables beneath our own reference components, heard every day in our own rooms.
GTT's relationship with Kubala-Sosna is specific and long-standing: we distribute the line throughout Canada and represent it directly at retail in the United States. It is the cable architecture we have chosen for the reference systems in which every loudspeaker, amplifier, and source we offer is ultimately evaluated. We represent Kubala-Sosna because its priorities match ours: engineering in service of the connection to the performance, proven by listening rather than by materials marketing. The range also gives clients a clear and honest upgrade path—each step through the OptimiZ™ generations brings a meaningful gain in the complete performance envelope.
In Canada, Kubala-Sosna is distributed by GTT. In the United States, Kubala-Sosna is represented by GTT at retail.
