Kronos Perpetual Turntable | REVIEW

Analog playback · Canada
Kronos combines mechanical innovation, careful setup, and a musical result that continues to reveal more as the surrounding system improves.
Kronos began by confronting a fundamental weakness in suspended turntables: the rotational torque created by the platter and drive system. Its patented dual-platter architecture places a second platter beneath the record platter and rotates it in the opposite direction. The opposing forces reduce torsional energy acting on the suspended structure, allowing the suspension to isolate the record-playing system more effectively.
That central idea is supported by dedicated motors, tightly controlled speed management, substantial mechanical grounding, and resonance-control strategies that extend through the chassis and tonearm. The current family ranges from Sparta and the original Kronos Pro through Perpetual and the flagship Discovery, with patented RS tonearms designed as part of the same mechanical system.
The value of counter-rotation is heard not as a special effect, but as greater stability in time. Images hold their position, low-level information emerges from a quieter background, and musical lines retain their shape through complex passages. Bass gains pitch definition and momentum; dynamic contrasts are reproduced with less blur and less sense of mechanical effort.
At the Discovery level, the presentation combines scale with unusual composure. The turntable preserves the physical energy of a performance while revealing the small timing and textural cues that make analog playback persuasive.
We represent Kronos because its innovation solves a real mechanical problem and because the musical result is repeatable. This is not novelty presented as progress. The counter-rotating architecture, suspension, drive system, and tonearm work together as a coherent platform.
For clients who want the expressive qualities of vinyl without accepting the familiar limitations of suspended designs, Kronos provides one of the most complete analog solutions available. It rewards careful setup, and it continues to reveal more as the system around it improves.
Quiet reference notes that place Kronos Audio within its product hierarchy, system context, and private-audition path.
Discovery is Kronos Audio's flagship two-tonearm turntable — the counter-rotating platter architecture carried to its fullest, on a new exo-skeleton chassis.
Perpetual brings Kronos's counter-rotating platter architecture — the resonance control of the flagship Discovery — to a one-tonearm turntable.
